Two major artists of experimental electronic music are brought together on the same stage, a long-awaited project combining two different generations and their practices. Ikue Mori moved to New York in 1977, started playing drums and altered the face of rock music by setting up the legendary band No Wave DNA with fellow artists Arto Lindsay and Tim Wright. Since the band split, Mori became a pioneer of digital technologies in improvised music and plays in various groups with John Zorn, Mike Patton, Tom Cora, and Kim Gordon (see following concert). As for Norwegian Maja S. K. Ratkje, she is a key figure of the noise music scene, performing in solo as an astonishing vocalist, or as a duo with Fe-mail or Stephen O'Malley alongside her anarcha-feminist band SPUNK and her mega-group Jazzkammer!
